Procedure to follow
First – You must register for online services
If you wish to obtain your rebate from the car dealer at the time of the transaction, you must first register for our online services (in French only) and create your user profile. Please remember to enter all the requested information in your profile (your contact information, mailing address, etc.).
How Are Rebates Granted?
You can obtain the rebate amount you are entitled to directly from your dealer.
At the time of the transaction, your car dealer will verify whether your user profile has been created in the online services. It will then complete for you the rebate application for the used vehicle.
Your car dealer will also ask you to sign a transfer of rights form. Your signature will confirm that you authorize the government to disburse your rebate directly to the car dealer, which can then deduct the rebate amount from the total cost of your vehicle (including applicable fees and taxes).
Applications filed directly by individuals
If your car dealer does not offer to deduct the rebate from the price of your vehicle directly on your purchase agreement, you must complete the rebate application yourself.
Here is the procedure to follow:
Step 1 – Registering for Online services
- Access the program’s Online services
(in French only).
- Create your account and complete your user profile.

Step 2 – Creating a rebate application
- Open a session
in Online Services.
- Click on Mes demandes (My Applications), then on Créer une demande (Create an application). Choose the Véhicule d’occasion (Used Vehicle) option.
- Enter all the necessary information in the Véhicule (Vehicle) tab.
- In the Documents (Documents) tab, make sure you attach an electronic version of all the supporting documents required.
- Save the application then click on Soumettre la demande (Submit the application).
Step 3 – Application processing
- The administrator will process your application.
- If any corrections or additional information are required, you will be notified by email. You must connect to your account to make the requested corrections.
Step 4 – Payment of financial assistance
- Check your emails regularly! Once your application has been approved, you will receive a notice.
- You must log into the online services
again. In the Mes avis (My notifications) tab, you will be asked to enter your social insurance number. Online services are secure and this step is compulsory for the financial assistance to be paid.
- You will receive your rebate cheque by mail, within 4 to 6 weeks.
If you don’t use the Online services
If you are unable to access Online Services, you may file your application by mail using the Purchase rebate form – Used electric vehicle
.
Send the form, together with copies of the required supporting documents :
- Copy of the sales contract or long-term leasing agreement (including the signatures)
- Copy of the SAAQ proof or service of the signed registration certificate
- Copy of the vehicle record in Québec (the history of the vehicle’s ownership) provided by the SAAQ
- And other required documents, depending on the registration date
