The following used cars from the United States are not eligible because the original new car warranty is not honoured when the vehicle is transferred to Canada:
Only 2019 and 2020 all-electric vehicles that are covered by the original new vehicle warranty honoured in Québec, such as the coverage that applies to the battery, are now eligible.
Applicants must also comply with the other conditions respecting the vehicle. Please consult the FAQ if you have questions.
Effective July 1, 2022, the rebate for a used electric vehicle is $3,500.
Transition period
The previous rebate amount, which was $4,000, will be granted if the used vehicle is registered in your name by June 30, 2022. It is the vehicle registration date that is used to determine the rebate.
Note: the BMW i3 Range Extender (REX) is not eligible for the used vehicle rebate as it is a plug-in hybrid vehicle.
